In the Future: Open Call Guidelines

The New Monuments Task Force is excited to announce an open call for In The Future; a digital zine that gathers individuals’, groups’, and collectives’ finished work to be encapsulated into one digital platform. Creative submissions will respond to the question, How do we reclaim the collective sensory experiences that will tell the story of your community?

Digital Zine: In the Future
NMT seeks applications from individual artists or collectives whose finished multi-media works  re-imagine the future of monuments, memorials and public art.

Finished works can be visual, moving images, writings, poetry, audio, recordings that respond to our question. Submissions that are accepted into the digital zine will offer ideas, solutions, critical inquiries on public space; public art and cultural memory in their respective communities.

NMTF intends to bring together this curated collection of work -- images, photos, essays, dialogues and more -- to tell the story of radical, imaginative, provocative and subversive ideas being created to reckon with antiquated forms of monuments, memorials and public art.

Curated Conversations: In The Future
Along with the debut of the digital zine “In The Future: How do we reclaim the collective sensory experiences that will tell the story of your community?” We will be hosting two virtual speaker events to lead up to the release and share space with everyone wanting to attend.

Dates and information on speakers will be announced in late August.

If you would like to submit to the open call, please submit the form.
